Yes, it’s that time of year again.

The EBAN Annual Congress will get underway next week and the destination for this year’s edition is the beautiful Spanish city of Malaga.

All roads lead to… Malaga for EBAN 2017

A cosmopolitan business hub, Malaga has earned a growing reputation as a reference point in the field of new technologies, innovation and knowledge.

We, at Starttech, couldn’t think of a more apt choice for what is always an interesting gathering of some of Europe’s largest and most international business angel investors and innovative startups.

Indeed, as Malaga’s most famous son Picasso put it,

“Inspiration exists, but you have to find it working.”

And we expect to see ample amounts of both inspiration and hard – as well as smart – work on the agenda, from June 7-9 at the “Palacio de ferias y congresos de Malaga”.

What is EBAN?

EBAN, as its official title states, is the European Trade Association for Business Angels, Social Funds and Early Stage Market Players. And the annual congress is the go-to event for the elite of Europe’s angel and early investor community. It offers a platform for launching new trends and ideas. And it’s bringing together some of the world’s most prominent business angels, entrepreneurs and opinion leaders.

We are proud to be active members of EBAN since 2009. For us, the event represents a rich melting pot of networking. One where investors, like ourselves, can tap in to the future of all things tech and beyond, and enable deal-making between experts in their various fields.

Organizers have said that they expect over 500 participants from the early stage investing market. And as more than 100 startups from across Europe and beyond. We’re getting ready to buckle up for an exciting ride.

What’s hot

As we’ve come to expect, the agenda is jam-packed with some fantastic key speakers over the three days. This includes Jeff Hoffman, a director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network. Also, former FIFA-Referee and consultant for FIFA and UEFA/ Motivational Speaker Urs Meier. The New York Times’s Gina Smith, bestselling author of Apple founder Steve Wozniak’s biography will also be present.

Check out the full list of speakers for yourself here.

We’re also looking forward to visiting the Innovation Showcase. This is where participants put their best and brightest early stage companies on center stage, to pitch non-stop. That’s during the afternoon of June 8 and the morning of June 9.

Oh yes! And don’t miss the chance to see drone battles and robots, and today’s most advanced VR/AR and AI experiences, in the central arena. See you there!
