It’s pretty obvious that the way we are doing banking – and handling finance in general – is rapidly changing. And the Alpha Bank FinQuest competition aims to promote digital banking innovation. As well as to reinforce the FinTech ecosystem in Greece and beyond.

Alpha Bank FinQuest competition: an introduction

What exactly is Alpha Bank FinQuest competition in detail? Basically it aims to enable innovative proposals. And, of course, make the FinTech community part of the industry’s transformation. FinQuest leverages Alpha Bank’s leading know-how, as well as its network of top performing partners. That is, in order to offer added value to external teams and become a growth pillar of the FinTech ecosystem.

Following the assessment of all applications, Alpha Bank will then select up to 7 teams to enter a bootcamp. Then follows a 6-week accelerator, during which each team will receive expert mentoring and training. They will be working towards fine-tuning their pitch to potential investors. Teams will be able to access a wealth of experience and knowledge from industry experts. This will help them get all the support they will need to bring their projects to life.

And that’s not all

Additionally, teams will get access to Alpha Bank’s open banking APIs. You’ll get the chance to augment your implementation with specialized API functionalities and turn your innovative ideas into secure FinTech applications. Who can participate?

The Alpha Bank FinQuest competition is open to anyone who has a brilliant and game-changing FinTech idea shaped into a working prototype. And, more specifically, this means that not only individuals but companies and startups are also encouraged to participate with a single restriction; teams should be up to a maximum of five people.

Main focus areas

Participants are encouraged to introduce applications and solutions that are applicable in areas such as customer on-boarding and engagement, identity management and personalization. Or even implementations that are related to new, groundbreaking fields such as “Phygital” banking.

Technologies you can use

As for the technologies that you can use there are no restrictions. But, you are encouraged to focus on state-of-the-art technologies such as

  • Cloud Platforms
  • AI Machine Learning
  • Blockchain
  • IoT
  • Conversational Interfaces
  • Advanced Analytics

Prizes

Right then, now for the other juicy aspect: the prizes. As well as the mentoring and training which teams will receive, Alpha Bank will reward the top 3 participants with the following cash prizes:

  • 1st: € 5,000
  • 2nd: € 3,000
  • 3rd: € 2,000
