Voxxed Days Crete 2025: Three voices, one shared message
Beyond any doubt, Crete is on its way to becoming the absolute tech hub of the Mediterranean. At Epignosis Learning Technologies, Yodeck, and Starttech Ventures, we share a close relationship with the academic, research, and entrepreneurial community of this unique island, and we are committed to doing our part to support this journey.

At Voxxed Days Crete 2025, a two-day gathering of developers and innovators pushing the boundaries of technology, Epignosis was proud to participate as Gold Sponsor. The meetings, the talks, and the energy of the local community sent us a clear message: collaboration and community are the forces shaping the future.
What follows are the experiences of those who attended, each highlighting a different face of this celebration of technology.
The team experience
The participation at Voxxed Days Crete proved to be a rewarding experience, with results that exceeded all expectations.
The first day was filled with conversations at the booth, with students and young professionals debating the past, present, and future of learning technology.
Networking continued at local restaurants and tavernas, strengthening team bonds. On the second day, even more young developers stopped by, providing the perfect moment to announce plans for a tech hub in Heraklion.
Talks by Aggelos Bellos and Vassilis Poursalidis drew engaged audiences, sparking lively Q&A sessions. The conference wrapped up with new friendships and a strong sense of commitment to investing in Crete’s tech community.
The perspective of Nick Gonios
Our VP of Global Partners Ecosystem, Nick Gonios, was also in Heraklion to support the sponsorship and amplify Epignosis’ commitment to the region. Beyond backing the booth and the talks.
Nick engaged directly with attendees, partners, and community leaders, highlighting that the company’s investment as a Gold Sponsor was not just about visibility, but about building lasting partnerships. He emphasized the strategic importance of Crete as a technology hub and showcased Epignosis’ determination to contribute actively to its growth.
By connecting with local developers, university students, and other ecosystem stakeholders, Nick underscored how crucial collaboration between companies, academia, and research institutions will be for Crete to solidify its role in IT and AI. His message was clear: sponsorship is only the beginning. The real value lies in sustained engagement, consistent presence, and the creation of opportunities that can transform Crete’s tech community into a Mediterranean benchmark.
The perspective of Vassilis Poursalidis
Vassilis emphasized the value of mid-sized conferences like Voxxed Days Crete: they strike the balance between large-scale theory and real-world practices that teams can apply immediately.
In his talk on user registration and authentication, he highlighted how many teams treat security as an afterthought, creating friction and gaps. Instead, he proposed making onboarding a first-class concern, with flows that are both secure and maintainable.
He also spoke candidly about stage anxiety, underscoring that authenticity and substance matter more than perfect delivery. His conclusion was clear: building a thriving tech scene requires active participation, consistent presence, and ownership. Supporting events like Voxxed Days, DevStaff, and SoCraTes Crete is not optional — community is a practice.
The perspective of Aggelos Bellos
Aggelos shared his experience as a speaker with the talk “Modernizing the Legacy”, presenting the five-year transformation journey of TalentLMS. His honest take on challenges and decisions gave the audience practical insights on evolving large-scale applications.
A highlight was his exchange with Vladas Diržys on architectural decision records, which evolved into a broader discussion with the audience.
As a co-organizer of DevStaff, Aggelos highlighted how local developer communities can create opportunities and connections. The event was also enriched by the presence of many students who had recently engaged with Epignosis through interviews for the AI FuturEd hackathon. For many of them, this was their first international tech event, and their excitement showed how small opportunities can grow into transformative experiences.
For Aggelos, Voxxed Days Crete proved the power of community: small actions, a mention, an invitation, a sponsorship — can create ripples that lead to meaningful change.
Conclusion
Voxxed Days Crete 2025 was not just another tech conference. It was proof of Crete’s role as a strategic hub for IT and AI, and a reminder that progress comes through collaboration and participation.
Epignosis, Yodeck, and Starttech Ventures will continue to invest in and support the community, helping Crete establish itself as the Mediterranean’s center of innovation.
